"Oliver & Company" (1988) is one of the few films that can get away with its plethora of character songs, owing in large part to the voices and craft of Billy Joel and Bette Midler. This witty film was the first offering in Disney's plan to release a feature film every year. Plus, as of this writing it hasn't yet been tarnished by the development of any horrible sequels. Hopefully that won't change.
