This Don Bluth sci-fi film was heavily promoted prior to its release in the summer of 2000, but regrettably didn't fare too well at the box office.

20th Century Fox closed its Arizona division where the animation was done shortly thereafter, essentially pulling the plug on any future animation projects under its banner. However, they've also bought & bankrolled Blue Sky Animation Studios, which produced last year's wonderful "Ice Age" (one of this year's Oscar hopefuls) --so they're not out of the game yet.

In any case, "Titan A.E." was nicely animated and had a good storyline, as well as some memorable characters... a combination that is increasingly harder to deliver these days.
